Steve Bertone graduated from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn with a degree in chemical engineering. He completed his master’s degree in chemical engineering, specialising in polymeric materials, also at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn.
He initially worked as a Process/Proposal/Field Service Engineer at Petro Chem Development Company, a subsidiary of Heurtey PetroChem, in New York City.
In 1983, he joined Selas Fluid Processing Corporation, a subsidiary of Linde Engineering, as Head of Sales and Process Engineering. In 2000, Mr Bertone was appointed President/CEO of Selas Fluid Processing Corporation.
In 2004, Mr Bertone moved to Tulsa Oklahoma to take up the position of President/CEO of Linde Process Plants.
In 2015, he assumed the position of President/CEO of the newly aligned engineering organization in North America; Linde Engineering North America Inc.
Mr Bertone has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Linde Engineering Division since 2015, where he is responsible for Linde Engineering operations in the Americas.
